A Little Experimentation on Photography

Once in a while, I like to play with my beloved camera and take interesting shots, experimenting here and there, where once in a blue moon, gems will turn up.

Seeing through the mist

All I see is a haze, and a trail of red dots.

A whirlwind of imagery

Could this be mere imagery of life?

Of Bliss and Angst

Dear Mr. Life,

You've never failed to surprise me, so why then should I be shocked this time round? I am seriously contemplating boycotting my favourite show, only that it'd be pretty much pointless to do so. Oh, what is a poor innocent girl to do, whose only hope is to nurse her wounds through other mind-numbing yet entertaining shows? For a better description of my exact emotions, though not as accurate because I do not subscribe to the author's idolatry of Anthony, see Rickey.

Yours truly,
An upset Siti.

--
On a lighter note, I will be away for a retreat, or so they call it, from 29th April to 1st May at NACLI with other lovely ambassadors. Do not miss me, and hopefully I will be back with nice photos! (Note to self: Don't forget to charge camera batteries.)

Hope all of you will be happy with your results this term - Good luck!

A Tale of Greenery

A deluge of greens - a kind shelter from the scorching heat.

Would you walk with me along this path, where we'll journey into the unknown together, my hand with yours?

Trees - a beautiful yet necessary existence in this world that we often remain oblivious to.

The Story of Shoes

Gloomy pink - a sense of ageing over time

When night becomes day

Looking through the mirror of life

Silver - the colour of sophistication and class

a freak of nature, or merely a fish that is to be pitied?

Red sky beckoning, sets us all a-humming.

A House Is Not A Home

To be called a home, to be cold to a stranger's touch yet warm to familiarity.

To live in two worlds, to see things in dual manner.

Being oblivious to one's surroundings, seeking refuge in the warmth of one's home.

Looking through a window, seeing more than you bargained for.

Of Good, Wholesome Writing

Do you really, truly mean it,
When you say love's forever;
Or you say as you deem fit,
As would any other lover?

It appears that writing, is never an easy task, at least for me, especially if I try to write well. For, to me, good writing is sincere, and sincere writing has to come right from the heart. The stark label of being 'heartless' has been cast, by oneself before many, with blurry margins that threaten the authenticity of such a label. Often I wonder, is it out of sheer fear that the heart keeps everything to itself, or is it out of a dire need to protect the sanctity of an individual's privacy?

Why then do I write in the first place?

Perhaps it is merely a disease of ambivalence, perhaps it is just the usual idiosyncracy of a certain personality, perhaps we may never know.

It was strange, as I was walking in pitch darkness and proceeded to turn on my handphone for its powerful light, I hesitated. I began to wonder if people were afraid of the dark, or if they were more afraid of what they would see lurking in the dark.

Ode to My Dear School

As majestic as ever..

Always filled with joy and colours.

The things we do in your classes will remain etched in our memory.

The mystery that lies within you - simply adds to your charm, doesn't it?

We look up to you in awe.

You were the warm haven we seek.

That quaint, colonial look is simply homely.

Your flora will be missed.

Will we walk through here again?

A side of you we hardly see...

We hope you'll stand forever tall.

Ode to my lovely school - You will be missed.

Mr. Mirror, won't you show the true reflection of me?

oh Mr. Stairs, won't you tell me where you are leading me to?

2 pairs of lovebirds, or 2 flowers looking up at the sun? - both basking in the warmth of sunshine and love.

he - waits for me and nobody else.

Will this quirk of fate lead us somewhere?

The invasion of multi-coloured cows. A lovely change from the usual green. Was extremely happy to finally be able to take a picture of them! Mooooooo.

The day I "Forced Entry" into school

Ahhhh, today's such an eventful day. Never knew I had it in me (Well, actually I am very much self-aware thank you very much). To cut a long story short, I went to school at around 10 pm to submit my group's BGS paper (which was due at 12 pm mind u, but Sheen gave us until "tonight" to submit so we can cut down the word limit to 5000 words - from 7000 to 6000 to 5000 - I almost died at the laptop, thanks to Mosy & Ridz for helping. *glares at Putra*) alright, I'm regressing.

So you must be wondering, how is she going to hand in the paper when he's not in his office?

Ah well, I figured that I'd put the report into a plastic bag (a nice black one, mind you) and hang it on the door knob of his office.

But don't you need the access code to enter the faculty offices in Accountancy?

Well, I only figured that out when kind Putra told me that when I was already on my way to school.

What happened then?

I decided to try my luck and see if the office was really locked, which would really be a bummer, but I'd probably curse myself, dump the report in my locker and get anyone who's going to school tomorrow to hand it in for me (alright, it doesn't matter that I'd just thought of this contingency plan like now).

So I took the lift up to the 7th floor, saw "Free Access" on the screen, so far so good. Then I reached the door of "Faculty Offices", screen said "Keypad Ready", oh darn, let's just try my luck and opened the door I did.

It started beeping madly, screaming "FORCED ENTRY"!!

Oh well, I wasn't going to leave till I came to do what I wanna do, ya know?

So got my mom to hold the door for me (yes, mom & aunt accompanied me, my partners in crime), wouldn't wanna get locked in, thank goodness I remembered where his office was, hung my plastic bag on his door knob, went back, closed the door, silence returned. Done in 10s. Je suis cool.

Wasn't there a security camera?

You bet there was! Although I realised that only after I had committed the "crime". & started talking about terrorists and bombs in the rubbish bin loudly. There you have it.

Mission Impossible Accomplished.
Bravo.

Allow me to end with an amusing exchange between my brother and my mom.

Mom: Teacher kau Mat Salleh? (Your teacher is an angmoh?)
Bro: Mat Soleh... (Religious Mat...)
Mom: Tak... Mat Salah. (No... Wrong Mat)

Oh, life's absolutely lovely.

Brimming with joy and happiness,
Spinning tales of beauty and loveliness;

Just to find you waiting down below.

The lonely flower rests against the wall, beckoning you to ameliorate its pitiful state.

How do we tell that we've entered the realm of the supernatural? How do we know the difference?

Of summer and birthdays

A whiff of sweet summer's scent,
Of bright and sunny skies ahead;
Just for us we'll make a tent,
In lakes like happy kids we wade.

Since my birthday's just a couple of days away, I shall make a list of things that I would not like to have. (Given the fact that there are too many thing I would like to have, unfortunately. :))

So here goes:
  • Earrings
  • Necklaces
  • Flowers
  • Furry soft toys
  • Nail polish
  • Make-up
  • Chocolates
  • Cookies
  • Nuts
  • Ice cream
  • Synthetic perfume
  • Pasta
  • Junk food
  • Hard rock CDs

Ahh, more evidence of how un-girly I am, although I can assure you that there are perfectly logical reasons behind them. I absolutely adore sweet gentle girls (not Jacko I am, oh wait, he does boys), my darlings should know. :) Either way, sleep's beckoning now. Mac's breakfast & Idol to look forward to today, oh how lovely. If I'm feeling good, I may even provide a bitch-fest Idol special. Ahhhh, how exciting. *chuckles*

It looks so quaint, that one's surprised to know that this photograph is taken at Botanical Garden. Ahh, the joy in capturing such rich colours.

Last Day

Oh fatigue, when will your relentless attack on my poor body cease?

On a lighter note, today's effectively my last lesson in the old campus today. Isn't it funny how people always say that they have mixed feelings when asked about such moments, how you feel like laughing at such cliched statements yet you grimace at the truth in it? Because you know you'll be losing a significant part of your life and it won't return.

I really do love school.

What happens when the coffin gets too big for the hole?

Just a little form of self-advertisement to brighten the day. Nice?

When boredom haunts, and its claws begin to gnaw at you, slowly but surely, you try to escape but to no avail.

Ideas

Ideas... Ideas... Hmm, perhaps I shall feature each of my friends daily in my blog, kinda like a daily superstar profile... perhaps I should make it weekly. Law of diminishing marginal utility might apply. Hmmm... what do I think?

My condolences to a man whom the world apparently loves, and has lost.

A true work of art, for it is the photographer who maketh the camera.
