Under the Weather

*sniffles*

Down with a fever, runny nose, inflamed tonsils, the works, and all at a wrong time too; have so many things coming up this week such as the World Bank Youth Seminar at ACJC tomorrow and the handover ceremony at the new campus the day after, logos and graphics to design. Oh, really hope I do get better soon. Would hate to miss those events just because I'm feeling horribly sick.

Took shots around City Hall today. Was with the other ambassadors for a campus tour with the Board of Trustees, URA representatives etc. The construction site probably worsened my condition. Only good thing was that the city campus definitely looked better than it looked last week. :) Will still miss the old campus though. A sentimental girl, I am.

Will be back with more photos the moment I feel better. In the words of Asrie, "My nose is still running the Standard Chartered marathon. I'm trying to catch it". Or something lame to that extent eh? Boo.

Off to drink mummy's chicken soup!

Lovely photos through a new lens

Have lots more photos to upload... But that's for another day eh? :)

Wonder what's that in the middle? ;)

Half of FUJI, with a reflection of the sunset

Nice combination of the clouds and the orange sky

Bridge

Quite an interesting bridge actually... It's a makeshift one, not the usual concrete overhead bridges you see all around

Fluffy clouds :)

Burning sky

The other side of the sky... still a rich blue. :)

Light from the lamp just turned on, still made a pretty imposing lamppost eh?

Till next time. :)

In Bliss: Return of Mr. Camera

It was uncanny. Mere coincidence?

As I left the Fujifilm Service Centre after collecting my finally-repaired camera, a beautiful orange sunset enveloped the sky, all ready for me to capture that special moment. And snapped with a vengeance I did, as some would say, and to my surprise, pictures were noticeably sharper and the colours captured were richer, probably due to the new lens. A wonderful surprise eh? The wait was well worth it. Or perhaps it was just the notion of not having taken photographs with my camera for almost a month now. Either that or they've upgraded the lens. They've replaced the main powerboard as well. Doesn't matter, mr. camera's back with me now. :)

Will upload the photos I've taken today onto this blog soon. Looking forward to more adventures of Mr. Camera and me coming up!

The sun sets into the orange sky,
He turns around to wave goodbye;
A promise, a word that'll never wane,
In good faith they'll meet again.

Grainy Shots from Lovely Old Campus

Feel really incapacitated without my trusty camera, been seeing so many photo opportunities but unable to capture them; such an awful waste. Decided to post old shots I'd taken of the SMU campus at Bukit Timah, I'd return to it yesterday to give "campus tours" to NUS Alumni who had somewhat a reunion yesterday to celebrate their 100-year Anniversary; do forgive me if i've gotten the number wrong. "Bash at BTC", they called it. Pretty happening eh, complete with Tiger Beer girls et al. *chuckles* In any case, the irony of it all was that these people probably knew their old campus better than us youngsters, with even more memories of their university life embedded in the classrooms, corridors, where some may even have met their future spouse. Still, I'm sure we were more than happy to play gracious hosts, being the current occupants of their old campus, our soon-to-be old campus. :) Hope you enjoy the photos, as much I'd enjoyed taking them.

Very grainy shot, but thought the grainy effect made it look more ghostly.. kinda like in a movie. :)

Had posted this photo earlier, but I editted the contrast to give it a more imposing colour.

A pretty grainy shot due to the lack of light, thought it made an intriguing pattern nonetheless.

The locker that served me faithfully through my term time, though it was seriously underused; brought all my books back home right after lessons so that I could study, which I barely managed to, of course. *chuckles*

Forgotten Photos

Was looking through my holiday photos, came upon some photos I'd forgotten to put up, probably because I couldn't categorize them.. :) Well, here they are!

Postcard from Cherating

Really liked this collage, thought it looked like a postcard... Hey, Cherating should thank me for making their beach look so photogenic! ;) Employment in the advertising industry would be excellent.

Baby Time

Reminiscing my childhood with a little narcissism; having high self-esteem is always a plus nowadays.

Drinks, Anyone?

The fabulous drinks were the only saving grace of the eating place, name to be undisclosed; Teh Tarik and Milo Dinosaur, yummy.

Lovely Maryam

I didn't take this photo, but I thought I'd just share what a lovely baby Maryam is. Born to an Arab father and a French mother, she is one beauty. May she grow up to be a beautiful person, both inside and out. :)

A Thousand Apologies

What does it mean to say hi,
In the aftermath of a sigh?
What does it mean to say bye,
In the aftermath of a sigh?

Alright, I confess, I've not updated this blog for a week now due to the following reasons:
  1. My camera's still being repaired and I've not taken any intriguing photos to put up on this blog. Oh when will my heartache ease?
  2. I've absolutely nothing to write about, nada, zilch, zero.
  3. I've been too busy lately.
  4. I'm too lazy.

Really pleased to read all of your comments on this blog, be they compliments, advice, questions, nonsensical yet amusing statements. Makes my day to know you guys take time to drop by my blog, even bothering to comment. :)

What then have I been up to lately, with the absence of my partner-in-crime, ie. beloved camera?

Been designing t-shirts, printing them, (To Gracia: Glad you love your Bimbo tanktop!), going for meetings, meeting friends for lunch & dinner, walked, shopped & spent so much, had a great time :) A pity I did not have a camera with me, for I saw plenty of photo opportunities with my little eye.

There you have it, my mundane life makes no good fodder neither for gossip nor a good read. To read a story utterly nonsensical yet hilarious, I recommend The Armpit Story. For everything else, there's always Google. :) Do pray for the quick return of my camera, for I find my photographs to be much more entertaining, as the old adage goes, A picture speaks a thousand words, no less. ;)

To Shane: Bon Voyage! Don't go too crazy in US :) Come back safe with lotsa prezzies for us yeah?

To Asrie: You're the best la!

Till the next time. :)
